Boiler installation.

When installing a fossil fuel boiler, regulations exist to comply with not only safety but also environmental targets that need to be met. All boilers now have ratings to show performance, whether it be carbon emissions or efficiency.

Oil. (Kerosene or Biofuels)

If installing an oil boiler externally, and it significantly alters the external appearance then planning permission may be required, check with your local council’s planning to see if required.

Oil boiler installers should be registered with one or more of the following.

Gas. (Natural)

If installing a gas boiler connected to the main supply network, then this is using natural gas. This gas is light and highly flammable, so regulations take into consideration not only the method of installation but also servicing, locations and safety devices.

Gas boiler installers should be registered with one or more of the following.

Gas. (Liquid petroleum gas LPG )

If installing a boiler connected to gas bottles or a storage tank, then this is probably using LPG gas. This gas is heavier than natural gas and highly flammable, so regulations take into consideration not only the method of installation but also servicing, storage, locations and safety devices.
